Strategic Solutions

An array of strategic solutions from The Center for Food Integrity empowers the food system to proactively engage.

CFI has an array of strategic solutions offering proven, practical guidance to address important issues for the food system as a whole, as sectors and as individual organizations.

Truth to Trust

Uncover five distinct consumer segments—and their definitions of “what’s real” with CFI’s newest research and strategic framework. Grounded in our peer-reviewed Trust Model℠, Truth to Trust helps food and agriculture organizations build credibility in a complex environment where personal beliefs, polarization, and “someone like me” can override facts alone.

Engage™ Training

Engage™ is an interactive, discussion-driven training that gets to the core of what matters to  consumers and builds trust: shared-values communication principles. Each Engage® session is tailored to address the topics that matter most to your organization and can be customized for individuals or groups of any size.

Gene Editing

Gene editing technology is one of today’s most promising innovations, with tremendous potential to benefit society, farming and food production.

CFI’s Coalition for Responsible Gene Editing in Agriculture developed a voluntary Framework for responsibly using gene editing within food and agriculture. The Framework for Responsible Use in Agriculture is intended to increase transparency and stakeholder engagement to build trust in the products derived through gene editing and those using them. It provides assurances that those using gene editing within the framework are worthy of their trust.

Transparency Model & Assessment

CFI has developed a research-based Transparency Assessment that allows food industry organizations to benchmark and track stakeholders’ perceptions of transparency. The assessment provides the insight needed to evaluate current levels of transparency and to guide strategies to enhance stakeholder trust by increasing transparency.

Trust in Food and Ag Tech

Why do consumers accept some ag and food technologies and reject others? The Center for Food Integrity conducted research among consumers and food companies to answer that question and develop two resources. The Strategic Roadmap outlines steps to build acceptance that are tailored for the diverse sectors using and advocating for innovation. The Communication Guide shares recommendations, messages and conversation starters to engage with consumers.

Animal Welfare

Animal care and modern animal production practices are under intense scrutiny. While farmers and food suppliers have long prioritized animal welfare, consumers, investors and other stakeholders who demand greater transparency about food production are exerting more pressure than ever before. CFI can equip your organization with research, recommendations and strategies to navigate the complexities of animal welfare pressures.

Source Verification

The Center for Food Integrity has partnered with Source Certain to provide a comprehensive origin verification program for food and commodity supply chains seeking to improve their transparency and traceability outcomes and build consumer trust.

Optimizing Sustainability

The Optimizing Sustainability framework provides tools and processes to evaluate sustainability priorities to determine the impact of potential decisions. By following these processes, companies can make informed decisions that are aligned with their values, the values of their stakeholders and their business objectives. The framework contains three modules that companies can use based on their stage of development and need.
