Kirk Merritt joined the Ohio Soybean Council in June 2007 as International Marketing Director, and was promoted to Executive Director in December 2009. The Ohio Soybean Council is governed by an 18-member volunteer soybean producer Board of Trustees, and is headquartered in Worthington, Ohio. The mission of the Council is to invest soybean checkoff funds to maximize profit opportunities for Ohio soybean farmers. Kirk works closely with the Board of Trustees to advance the Council’s strategic priorities, and manages the Council’s staff and operations. He also oversees the activities of the Ohio Soybean Council Foundation, including a scholarship program and an education and workforce development initiative for the agriculture industry.
